recorded in the fall and winter 1994/1995 at home in california. this one hundred minute tape features a wide range of atmospheric stylings and performances, many live to tape utilizing signal processing devices. the title track is a lengthy electronic tone poem with ethnic overtones, a sonorous and narrative work. features bryan helm on all instruments and sample manipulation.

a collection of recordings spanning the last several years, grouped together and overdubbed in spring 1995. these reworked pieces include a vocal version of the bindlestiff piece "sleep it off". one hour of largely non-ambient work with an emphasis on voice.

recorded at home during the summer of 1995, this 100 minute tape occupies ambient and more active areas of listening. the tracks are all recorded live to tape, featuring bryan helm on all instruments. the pieces are designed around repeating patterns of varying tonalities.

"out of a clear blue sky" is a collection of loops recorded "live" to tape in the summer of 1996 by bryan helm. this 90 minute tape features keyboard, guitar, voice, and more, in both ambient and active settings. tracks include "stolen moments", "by the way...", and "it's in the can".

"liquid center" features 4 tracks including the 50 minute title cut , plus "african snowglobe" and 2 others. rhythm and vibrance fill this tape, recorded "live" in the summer of 1997.

"drifting forward" is a collection of tracks that feature electric guitar, piano, and synthesizer to create a few relaxing and amusing musical moments amidst the "looped" textures that dominate these works. contains 7 all-new tracks, recorded "live" in the studio during 1997.

"falling autumn stars" features 6 tracks including the title cut which fills side A. the second side features selections with choral oriented textures and also a rare "non-live" track, "mr. crow", which contains a single take overdubbed guitar solo.

"death by misadventure" presents perhaps the darkest and most electronic collection of pieces, of all of bryan helm's current releases. features 7 selections including "far into the night" and "a dream adrift", all recorded "live" to tape during october and november 1997.
